KRB and the Prime Minister

Our Director and Principal Trainer, Keiran Booth, was invited by the Federal Member for Robertson, to meet with the Prime Minister of Australia during a recent visit to the NSW Central Coast. The day of the meeting was 10th October which also happens to be World Mental Health Day when we focus on the Mental Health issues. I was able to speak at length to the Prime Minister and the Member for Robertson (Lucy Wicks) around psychosocial disability and the loss of community based services on the Central Coast for those with a severe and persistent mental health issue. The Prime Minister was extremely interested in the issues and potential solutions that we raised. The following week we received a call from Ms Wicks office saying that the Health Minister had requested a briefing and discussion paper from us around the solutions we offered. You know, after so many years, its just great to have politicians and bureaucrats talk to AND listen to those people who work in this environment everyday. Thank you Prime Minister and Ms Wicks.

PS: Don't blame me for the picture - That's the Prime Minister taking a selfie with me and MS Wicks.

More new training courses rolled out...…...

KRB Training Solutions have been extremely busy this year. We have been able to run over 12 more courses for a wide and varied range of services and providers.

We have supported a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) on the NSW Central Coat to train over 25 of their staff in Mental Health First Aid, we provided another course recently for a repeat customer who's business has grown rapidly due to the NDIS and 3 additional courses for Central Coast Primary Care for the mental health and direct home support staff.

We also welcomed two other new organisations - OTEC, a youth employment pathway program undertook a Mental Health First Aid training course for their staff and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand who have engaged us to speak to their members about the relationship between mental health problems and financial difficulties, the signs that someone you know may be experiencing mental health problems, an overview of Mental Health First Aid and some communication tips. It's great to have an opportunity to spread the word on maintaining your mental health and wellbeing and the benefits and skills learnt from a Mental Health First Aid course.

And in what is looking like a busy year ahead we also have bookings for 3 new courses in February and March of next year !  I'm going to need a holiday I think.
